Festival at La Salle

Por Rubén Santamaría, alumno de 1º de ESO del colegio La Salle de Santander.

Last week it was La Salle Festival. During the week, we had different activities like reflections on San Juan Bautista de la Salle. But the real party began on Thursday after the opening or the official crier.

¡Menuda fiesta!.

This opening took place at the school pavilion because it was raining outside and we couldn´t do it in the playground. This year it was about the circus and clowns. During 30 minutes we heard different children songs and all of us put on a clown nose. It was very original. As it was raining and we couldn’t also do other activities like 'Deporte Express' What a pity!

However, we could do different things like playing chess, going to the 'Tu sí que vales' contest (for Primary students) or going to 'El Señor del Dado' competition. I went there as a spectator.

Se organizaron varias actividades gracias a la colaboración de los estudiantes más mayores.

On Friday, we had the Eucharist at the Franciscans' church. There was a mass about Saint Juan Bautista de la Salle and we sang different songs like the Alleluia and La Salle´s anthem. After that, we went to the school again and we saw the Cooking Competition. On the afternoon, we had the table tennis contest, the play-station competition and the 'Tú sí que vales' auditions of secondary education. We were a little bit disappointed because our class couldn´t dance.

The following day it was PROYDE´s day. PROYDE is our NGO. We had different humanitarian activities like a gymkhana, a basketball match, sports championships and a bake sale.

At midday it was the great paella. Afterwards, we enjoyed the foam canyon and the DJ. We ended the day with a chocolate party, a bull of fire and the fireworks. I think that these last things were the best of all, together the musical 'Blancanieves Boulevard' performed by our theater group.
